Carnegie set to host second annual book fair

Hughson to dedicate veterans memorial

The Hughson Unified School District, in partnership with the city of Hughson, Hughson Sports and Fitness Complex Steering Committee and Scranton and Hughson Post 872 of the American Legion, will cut the ribbon to the Veterans Memorial Wall at the Hughson Sports and Fitness Complex.

Celebrating Baha’i in Turlock

On Oct. 10, Turlock Mayor Gary Soiseth and the City Council proclaimed Oct. 22 would honor the 200th bicentenary of the founder of the Baha'i Faith, Baha'u'llah. Erika Bennet, Ken Allen, Mary Allen, Sara Martinez and Elvira Ghardashem were on hand to receive the proclamation, and on Oct. 22, a celebration was held by the Spiritual Assembly of the Baha'is of Turlock, joining more than 6 million Baha'is from 240 countries around the world in observance of the bicentennial event.

Foster Farms seeks local singer for college bowl game

Last year, Turlock teen Felisha Dias won the Foster Farms Bowl "Oh Say, Can You Sing?" contest and sung the national anthem in front of thousands of football fans, while also helping to deliver thousands of pounds of food for those in need. Foster Farms is once again looking for a local singing sensation to perform in front of 70,000 football fans before the Bowl game at Levi's Stadium on Dec. 27.
