Turlock Librarian Diane Bartlett grew up in the Bay Area, the youngest of five children. She was not unfamiliar with this area, however, because as a child she made many trips to Turlock to visit her mother's relatives and to attend swap meets with her dad. She graduated from CSU Hayward (now East Bay) with a BA in Liberal Studies and after working a variety of jobs, went on to graduate from San Jose State with a Masters in Library and Information Science in 1986. Local seniors ‘Pedal to End Alzheimer’s’

Residents of Covenant Village of Turlock used brains and brawn to pedal 334 miles and raise nearly $1,200 during the first annual Pedal to End Alzheimer's CyberCycle Challenge, a month-long cycling competition in September against sister community, The Samarkand, in Santa Barbara. During the challenge, 21 residents took turns riding the CyberCycle, a recumbent bike that uses virtual environments, video game features, group rides, and the spirit of healthy competition to motivate riders.

Know Your Neighbor: Michelle Reimers

Michelle Reimers is the Assistant General Manager of External Affairs for the Turlock Irrigation District. She is responsible for managing the strategic planning and development for the District's communications, outreach, education and government affairs programs and initiatives. Reimers advocates on TID's behalf via several state and national professional organizations and she is involved in local organizations as well.
