Ladies and their sheep strike a pose

Elegance and class filled the livestock yards at the Stanislaus County Fair when three contestants showcased their model sheep at the Lads and Ladies Lead Class Judging Thursday afternoon. Each young contestant led their sheep around the ring while wearing wool clothing - showcasing both the sheep and the apparel.

The Turlock Senior Citizens recently raffled off a handmade patriotic quilt made by members of the Seniors group. The winner was Adrienne Werner, who works at Turlock City Hall in the Planning Department. The money from the raffle will benefit the Turlock seniors.

PET PARADE PLANNED

Local dog owners will have an opportunity to wag and walk their way from Pet Extreme to the newest dog park in Turlock - Swanson Centennial Dog Park - on Sept. 20. The City will be hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the new facility as well as stage several vendors through which locals can browse prior to playing with their pups at the new park.
