Turlock Relay for Life raises over $160,000

According to the American Cancer Society, more than 4 million people across 20 countries gather each year to participate in Relay for Life to raise funds for cancer research and awareness. With sunny days and cool evenings, many Turlockers are beginning to spend more time outdoors. Although going on bike rides can be a fun way for families and friends to enjoy the warmer weather, riding a bicycle around Turlock can often be an unsafe and treacherous task.

Volunteers spread the love in community event

Hundreds of locals could be found Saturday painting the town – literally. Gold-shirted volunteers were dispersed over the city to paint, trim, whack, clean and spruce up buildings, yards, homes and businesses as part of the annual Love Turlock event.

Calaveras Big Trees State Park to celebrate new visitor center

Calaveras Big Trees State Park will hold the grand opening of its new Visitor Center on May 24 during Memorial Day weekend. The new Visitor Center features a variety of exhibits and artifacts that display some of the local history of California.

Ice rink expansion approved with conditions
