Another delicious festival will hit the streets of Turlock on May 1 when the Turlock Poker Room and Casino hosts the first annual Turlock Tamale Festival. Poker room owner Joe Fernandez wanted to bring something new and fun to the Turlock community, ultimately deciding on a festival complete with live performances, vendors and of course, tamales.

Jack Bright was able to see his flight dream come true on Sunday thanks to Ageless Aviation Dreams Foundation and pilot Darryl Fisher. Ageless Aviation Dreams Foundation honors many senior citizens and veterans by giving Dream Flights in their restored Boeing Stearman that was once a trainer from World War II. The foundation owns three planes and travels the country in hopes of making dreams come true free of charge thanks to sponsors. Last year they provided 650 flights in 23 states.
The battle against cancer is something that affects many people, and every year hundreds of community members come together through Relay For Life to raise much-needed funds and awareness to save lives from the terrible disease. This year, Hilmar and Turlock will host their own community fundraising walks to help find a cure.
Downtown Turlock is already a beautiful place, but it just got a whole lot prettier. As part of their efforts to beautify the downtown area, the Turlock Garden Club planted stunning displays of flowers in the large, cement pots that decorate Main Street.
