The gray skies looming over Turlock on Saturday didn't dampen the festive mood at the Turlock Certified Farmers' Market, as they opened their seventh season and the first at their new home at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds.
The goal of building a bigger library for the Turlock community took a big step forward Tuesday when Turlock residents John and Jeani Ferrari made a donation to the fund established by the Friends of the Turlock Public Library that doubled the amount raised.
Overcast skies mirrored the somber tone of Wednesday morning's Stanislaus County Peace Officers Memorial service held at Lakewood Memorial Park as those who lost their lives protecting and serving the public were honored.
