The corn dogs are hot and the milkshakes cold. The rides are whirling and the cows mooing. The 2015 Stanislaus County Fair has finally arrived. For those fair die-hards making their way to the fairgrounds today, here are five musts for opening day:

Turlock celebrates the 4th in patriotic fashion

Plenty of red, white and blue pride was on display Saturday at Turlock's Fourth of July parade in downtown. Spectators were treated to a bevy of floats, cars and marchers during the celebration, including a recreation of "Betsy Ross" stitching the original flag on The Pursuit of Truth Church float. The Girl Scouts marched with the Stars and Stripes, while Cameron Higgins opted to drive his Corvette along the parade route.
