Water rights bill awaits Governor’s signature

A landmark passage of water rights legislation occurred over the weekend when Assemblyman Adam Gray's Assembly Bill 313 received final approval on the last day of the legislative session – the next-to-final step toward becoming law for the bill, which requires that unbiased administrative law judges conduct water rights enforcement hearings, rather than the State Water Board.

Know Your Neighbor: Rosalee Rush

Stanislaus State's new Senior Associate Vice President for Communications, Marketing and Media Relations, Rosalee Rush, was drawn to the university because of its focus on student success, as well as President Ellen Junn's commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment. Before coming to Turlock, Rush served in a similar role at Bloomsbury University of Pennsylvania. She is a Michigan native, however, earning both her master's and bachelor's degrees in journalism from Michigan State University. Joining Rush in Turlock are her husband, Ty, and three children, Dominic, Kayden and Jordan Grace.

Pour your own craft beer at Pizza Factory

Turlock Pizza Factory owner Brent Jonson envisioned this world, and, wanting to bring it to Turlock, recently installed the city's first self-serve beer wall – a 10-tap display that allows customers to pour their own beer.

Donnelly Park playground to close for renovations

The Children's Play Park at Donnelly Park will be closed for six days next week for repairs thanks to a partnership between the City of Turlock and Turlock Sunrise Rotary, which has adopted the playground as a service project nearly 20 years after playing a vital role in its original construction.
