TID sets historic-low irrigation cap

The growing severity of California's drought has resulted in one of the lowest water allotments for irrigation purposes in Turlock Irrigation District's history. Starting the irrigation season on March 27, local growers serviced by TID will see a 20-inch cap water allotment, with little to no carryover in the Don Pedro Reservoir for 2015 – an unprecedented decision by TID staff.

Sunday Cruisin'

There wasn't a bike race happening in Turlock on Sunday morning, although it looked as though that was the case. It was a "bike run for fun," according to Jose Garcia who teamed up with Mario Martinez of Turlock and the Rolling Relics of Modesto to bring this family-oriented function to Turlock. The event brought people from various locations including Gilroy, Sacramento and the Bay Area. Garcia, who works for the City of Turlock, has participated in various bike runs with the Rolling Relics and wanted to bring one to Turlock.
