The fair is a summertime tradition for many locals and Friday's opening night was no exception as the enthusiastic crowd was indicative of an up and coming successful season for the Stanislaus County Fair.
While fried delights whether they be corn dogs, funnel cakes or something more exotic like alligator are a top draw at the Stanislaus County Fair, there is one item that might seem ordinary but is anything but: hamburgers made by the ladies of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
Despite the warm weather, children participating in the Westside Ministries annual soccer camp found the energy to play a competitive game last week. The three-week camp, which ended last Thursday, gave local children the opportunity to build skills and fitness, while also providing a safe place for kids to be during the summer.
