Nearly 12,000 community members lined Main Street in Turlock on Monday as the city celebrated the nation's birthday with its annual Fourth of July Downtown Parade. Visitors saw a number of new sights in Turlock for the holiday, including the first time that a Stanislaus State president has participated in the parade and the revival of the car show.

Turlock residents driving along Countryside Drive may have noticed the assemblage of buildings that are being constructed as part of the latest Monte Vista Crossings expansion. The final phases of development, Monte Vista Crossings South and Countryside at Tuolumne, will make local shoppers happy as over 80,000 square feet of retail will be added to the space.
