Monica and James Woods accepted a check from American Legion Rex Ish Post 88 and the American Legion Riders on Sunday. The money will help with medical expenses for their baby boy Tanner, who was born with multiple heart defects in December. Monica Woods said that Tanner is finally home after six weeks of hospital stays and open heart surgery.

More than $871,000 was raised to support comprehensive cardiac care at Emanuel Medical Center during the hospital's six-week annual giving campaign, known as Legacy Circle. For the past 13 years the Turlock Family Network has been a resource for young mothers and fathers - many of whom have come from abusive backgrounds or are recovering from drug and alcohol addictions. Health department recalls organic grape tomatoes
The California Department of Public Health has issued a warning against eating "Limited Edition" and "Fresh and Easy" brand organic grape tomatoes. Routine testing found salmonella contamination in the tomatoes, which were distributed by Andrew Williamson Fresh Produce in San Diego. Covenant Village residents have historic celebration
Covenant Village in Turlock celebrated 125 years of Covenant Retirement Community operations with a day of historical presentations, guest speakers, and 19th century costumes. Covenant Retirement Community was founded by the Covenant Church with the purchase of Home of Mercy in Chicago in 1886. It has since expanded across the United States. Covenant Village in Turlock was founded in 1977.
