Firefighters battle blaze at Turlock residence

Two Turlock firefighters were treated for smoke inhalation and heat-related issues from their efforts to put out a residential fire during the blazing midday heat.

Dust Bowl opens new brewhouse, taproom

While Dust Bowl Brewing Company's new Fulkerth Road facility is still missing its almost 5-foot tall rooftop neon sign, it hasn't stopped the brewhouse and eatery from attracting visitors from Turlock and across the region. Dust Bowl welcomed over 900 people through the doors of its west Turlock restaurant and working brewery on Monday, making for a very busy opening day.

Turlock police officers receive breakfast of thanks

In the wake of recent attacks on police officers across the nation, the Assyrian American Civic Club took it upon themselves to say "thank you" to the Turlock Police Department, preparing a breakfast Tuesday morning as a display of gratitude for their hard work and service.

Pokémon and Pizza at the Keyes Library

Pokémon and books, 'gotta catch 'em all!' Individuals can share tips for playing Pokémon GO as well as enjoy a slice of pizza at the Keyes Library at 5:30 p.m. July 28. Conservation service has funds available for ag air quality projects

USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service is making funds available to help improve and maintain air quality within designated areas of California, including Stanislaus County. Funding for the National Air Quality Initiative is available through the Environmental Quality Incentives Program; and those wishing to participate are encouraged to get their applications in soon.
