Country performer will be first in Fair’s line-up

The Stanislaus County Fair will have John Michael Montgomery kick off this year's run as the first headliner on July 13. The performance will take place on the Bud Light Variety Free Stage at 8:30 p.m. The concert will be hosted by KAT Country 103 and is free with the price of Fair admission.

County seeks new provider for senior meals

For the last 11 years, Howard Training Center has produced lunches for 20,000 senior citizens a month across Stanislaus County through the Elderly Nutrition and Meals on Wheels programs. The county's Area Agency on Aging is now seeking new program providers, however, as the Ceres nonprofit has given notice that it will not be renewing its contract for another year.
