The City of Turlock is looking to better serve customers internally and externally following Turlock City Council's recent decision to partner with Merced College as a host site sponsor for the Customer Service Academy offered by the campus' Workplace Learning Resource Center.
Just days after a fight broke out at the Turlock Sikh Temple, the annual Sikh American Awareness Event was held at the Ceres Community Center in an effort to educate members of law enforcement and the community at large about the Sikh religion.

Veterans of Foreign Wars Commander-in-Chief John Biedrzycki visited with local veterans on Wednesday evening after Turlock Post 5059-which is celebrating the 70th anniversary of its establishment-was chosen by its District Commander to host him for dinner. Biedrzycki said that he enjoyed the opportunity to "meet those people who are the fabric of American society and who make a difference every day." He added, "Nobody does more for veterans than the VFW and its auxiliary."
Graders and scrapers are busy conducting earthwork on a sandy parcel in Hilmar in hopes of completing Turlock Irrigation District's Lateral 8 Regulating Reservoir Expansion Project before the 2016 irrigation season begins.
