Family entertainment center coming to Turlock

Pokémon and Pizza at the Keyes Library

Pokémon and books, 'gotta catch 'em all!' Individuals can share tips for playing Pokémon GO as well as enjoy a slice of pizza at the Keyes Library at 5:30 p.m. July 28. The Keyes Library is a PokéStop so individuals will be able to collect items and catch a Pokémon during their visit. There are also other PokéStops and a Gym within one block of the library. Conservation service has funds available for ag air quality projects

USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service is making funds available to help improve and maintain air quality within designated areas of California, including Stanislaus County. Funding for the National Air Quality Initiative is available through the Environmental Quality Incentives Program; and those wishing to participate are encouraged to get their applications in soon.

Main Street Antiques readies for 20th anniversary celebration

A local store that sells items which have seen their fair share of years pass is now celebrating a birthday of its own. Main Street Antiques will turn 20 on Aug. 1, and for the past two decades the downtown location has provided the Turlock community with a wide variety of unique antiques.

Mayors to channel their inner Santas for annual Fair toy drive

The Stanislaus County Fair and the Salvation Army are holding a toy drive at the Fair gates on Thursday. Fair guests who donate one or more toy will receive two carnival ride tickets from Butler Amusements. All donations will help local children receive gifts for Christmas this year.
