The Turlock Planning Commission unanimously approved amending the City's General Plan Thursday night to permit the construction of three four-story buildings roughly 50 feet in height to house student apartments, which will be the highest buildings in Turlock.
It may be another week before the terms of a water agreement between the Turlock Irrigation District and the Stanislaus Regional Water Authority are finalized, a project that has been roughly 30 years in the making.

Since the Turlock Gospel Mission moved its Homeless Assistance Ministry out of the City of Turlock owned property at 1030 East Ave. last fall, the building has seen little activity. In the past, the building formerly known as the Youth Center was the site of a variety of recreation activities before been leased to the gospel mission.
