City of Hughson adopts preliminary budget

A healthy budget has become a hallmark of the City of Hughson in recent years, evident by the fact that the City's General Fund reserves were at 83 percent as of February. This month, the City adopted its 2015-2016 preliminary budget which boasts a positive balance of revenues to expenditures and a slight growth in the General Fund.

State board curtails use for senior water rights holders

The severity of the current California drought has prompted the State Water Resources Control Board to vote in favor of curtailing water use for the State's Pre-1914 water rights holders, more commonly referred to as senior water rights holders, in a move not seen since the drought of the late 1970s.
