Fire at park

Turlock Police are investigating an arson fire that scorched some of the wooden play structure at Donnelly Park. The fire was reported at 10 p.m. Tuesday night and quickly doused out by Turlock fire fighters. A propellant was used at the base of the structure to start the fire, Turlock Police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis said.

Police surround Turlock home after gun threat call

Turlock Police surrounded a house with weapons drawn for five hours Thursday night in an attempt to contact a man suspected of putting a gun to the head of a local woman. When police finally entered the Marshall Street home around midnight, the suspect was nowhere to be found, said Turlock Police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis.
