Students learn life-saving skills

American Medical Response paramedics and local firefighters spent all day Friday at Turlock Junior High School teaching 1,400 seventh and eighth graders Compression-Only CPR Training during physical education classes. Students not only learned the three C's of CPR: Checking responsiveness, Calling 9-1-1 and Compressions, but they were also told how important it is to perform CPR as soon as someone stops breathing since chances of survival go down 10 percent every minute that passes.
