Turlock native speaks at Berkeley graduation

Turlock High students win spot in Honor Band

Martin Acosta and Rachel Hawkes of Turlock High School both auditioned and were accepted into the prestigious All-Northern California Honor Band. The regional honor band, which serves students north of Bakersfield to the Oregon border, is a highly competitive, audition only ensemble. Under the direction of THS band director Daniel Baudino, Acosta, clarinet, and Hawkes, oboe, are both excited by the opportunity to perform in the weekend long event. The concert will take place at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 20 at Atherton Hall on the Delta College Campus in Stockton. Admission is free.

On Tuesday, the Pitman High fashion class once again collaborated with the Kiwanis Club of Turlock for the 10th year in a row to make dresses to donate for the Salvation Army.

Rim Fire recovery efforts focus of public event
