Wakefield Elementary School first graders took home Christmas boxes filled with literacy tools ranging from pencils to books. Rojas named YCCD board chair

Trustee Abe Rojas, of Turlock, has been named the new Chairman of the Yosemite Community College District Board of Trustees. Rojas will hold the position through November 2013. He replaces outgoing chair Mike Riley, of Modesto. Rojas has served the YCCD board for 17 years, representing Trustee Area 3, which includes Turlock Denair, and Hughson. CSU system sees record number of applications for fall 2013

The fall 2013 application cycle has set a new California State University record for submissions &ndash; the fourth straight year of record high system wide applications.
