Locals represented at all-star baseball games

MODESTO - On Saturday, visitors of John Thurman Field purchased programs that read the 2010 Modesto Sunrise Rotary Baseball Classic: 21st Annual High School All-Star Baseball Game. The purpose of the game was to gather all the best high school juniors and seniors from cities such as Turlock, Waterford, Modesto and Denair. Usually, the games aren't meant to be serious.

Turlock forces second game, but St. Mary’s too much

STOCKTON - The Turlock High baseball team rode a wave of momentum heading into the final game of the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I South Tournament at Klein Family Field at the University of the Pacific. After a convincing 7-3 game one win over St. Mary's that dealt the Rams their first loss in 16 games dating back to April 10, the Bulldogs were unable to overcome an offensive outburst from St Mary's in an 18-4 game two loss, securing the SJS South title for the Rams on Tuesday.

Hilmar, Turlock earn experience at Masters

SACRAMENTO - Potential. Perspective. Upside. Those words were used as part of a common theme for the local track and field athletes represented at the Sac-Joaquin Section Masters Meet on Thursday. A collection of underclassmen from Turlock High and Hilmar High traveled to compete at Hughes Stadium at Sacramento City College in front of hundreds of spectators.
