Bulldogs tennis takes final match to advance to semis for first time

Nathan Potter's focus was narrow and straight like a dark alley, despite the circumstances surrounding his match Thursday afternoon at the Turlock High tennis courts under a baking sun. After winning the first set, he realized that he had to top his opponent in the last showdown of Turlock High's Sac-Joaquin Section Division I quarterfinal meeting with Jesuit High.

Eagles golf falls short of division title

STEVINSON - While the last few players were wrapping up their final holes, Turlock Christian High boys golf coach Jeff Cederlind had a worried look on his face as he paced the dining area of Stevinson Ranch Golf Club on Monday. There was no word yet on this season's Sac-Joaquin Section Division VI winner but he knew one thing.

Dominant win slides Bulldogs into postseason, secures CCC title

In his final at-bat of the day, Turlock High's Jeremy McDonald didn't want to waste any time trying to touch all four bases at the Bulldogs' home baseball field on Friday afternoon. Once he smacked a shot toward right field, he wasn't satisfied with one base. So he kept going and going, sliding safely into third.

With a perfect season completed, Yellowjackets aim for Section title

HILMAR - The walls of the Hilmar High main office offers a display of winners. Team pictures are scattered near the back entrance, reminding students, teachers and visitors what the school's sports teams are capable of. Among the past winners is the 2004 Hilmar boys golf team. Just the other day, members of this year's Yellowjackets team were staring at the picture and reading the names and records posted underneath it.

After humbling the Pitman Pride for the fifth consecutive time, the Turlock High girls soccer players weren't celebrating in a massive dog pile or drenching the coach with a bucket of water. That stuff perhaps will be saved for later.
