Local XC runners battle it out at Sections

Three local runners competed at the cross country Sections meet at Willow Hill Reservoir in Folsom on Saturday, with Pitman's Isaac Gonzalez bringing home the best time out of the three at 17:47, earning 45th place in Division-II.

Hilmar football pulls off win after second half surge

Hilmar High's undefeated football season has been a product of complimentary play from its offense and defense, but on Friday, in the first round of the Division IV CIF Sac-Joaquin Section playoffs, it was the Yellowjacket defense that carried the team past Liberty Ranch High and onto the second round.

Hilmar volleyball one win away from championships

Hilmar takes round one in straight sets

Hilmar volleyball came into Tuesday's CIF SJS Division-IV playoffs confident. The Yellowjackets had won 22 of their last 24 games, 14 of which came in straight sets. After their defeat of the visiting Summerville Bears, the 'Jackets have another straight set victory under their belts.

Pitman High has been a volleyball power house for the past few years with three consecutive Central California Conference championships and back-to-back undefeated seasons in league. Pitman soccer pulls away with first round win over Franklin

A visiting Franklin High soccer team gave the Pitman Pride all they could handle in Tuesday's CIF Sac-Joaquin Section first round playoff game - in the first half. The Pride weren't down for the count, however, as they pulled off an incredible second half run, and eventual 2-1 victory.

Turlock High, the top seeded Central California Conference girls tennis team, dropped its first Division I Sac-Joaquin Section team playoff match to St. Francis High at home Tuesday afternoon. The Bulldogs managed only one match victory,1-8, against a Troubadours team with talent to spare.

Pitman pitches shutout in third straight game

Pitman High thoroughly beat Merced High on the baseball diamond Monday afternoon in the Pride's second Central California Conference game of the season. Four days removed from beating Golden Valley High 8-0, Pitman again pitched a shutout as they handed Merced its third consecutive loss by a score of 10-0.

Hilmar golf suffers first TVL loss; still eying title

Just one day after placing fourth alongside Escalon High in the team standings of the 2015 Yellowjacket Invitational, Hilmar High suffered its first Trans Valley League loss at the hands of Ripon High on Tuesday. Despite beating Ripon by nearly 30 strokes on Monday, the 'Jackets found themselves on the losing end of a two-stroke game against the Indians, 237-235.

New era for Turlock tennis; Pitman looks strong for 2015

Last year Turlock High's varsity boys tennis team went a perfect 12-0 in the Central California Conference behind head coach Juana Alaniz, who after the season decided to call it quits while his assistant coach Bill Weber recently accepted the head coaching job at Denair High.
