THS’ Moreno captures national title

This is how much Turlock High junior Alexia Moreno and Santa Fe High's Tamara Tillman wanted a national wrestling title: In the second round of their 121-pound final match of the USAW Girls Folkstyle National Tournament in Oklahoma City, Okla., last weekend, the two bumped heads in an attempt to gain a shot at the same exact time.

After being stadium-less, Turlock athletes have a place to practice, excel

It was an oh-so ordinary day for the Turlock High track and field athletes on Monday afternoon at Joe Debely Stadium. Hurdlers and jumpers loosened their limbs on an artificial turf field. Runners warmed up on an all-weather track. Pole vaulters battled a slight wind down a marked runway before extending skyward.

Eagles suffer first loss in league play

Halie Bergman entered the ballgame midway through the third quarter with Turlock Christian trailing Ripon Christian 19-16 in Thursday's encounter between the Southern League's two best girls basketball teams. Ripon Christian, strange as it sounds, took advantage. The Knights went on to coast to a surprisingly one-sided 53-33 victory that forces a two-way share of the league lead with two regular-season games remaining. The last time they won a championship was in ...

In the end Ripon Christian was too much though, and Denair fell to the Knights 60-28. "It was size," Denair's head coach Daniel Rodriguez said. "That's what we lack is ...

Gustine no match for TC’s Bergman and Muller

Turlock Christian High's girls basketball team stepped onto its home court with a quiet sense of confidence Monday night when they hosted Gustine High. The Eagles (9-0 Southern) once again cruised to a lopsided victory, defeating Gustine (2-7 Southern) 72-13. The Redskins were also quiet on the court, albeit for a completely different reason.
