On a night when they wanted to cement their standing atop the Trans-Valley League and stand tough on their own turf, Hilmar accomplished both, sending the visiting Escalon Cougars away with a 28-14 loss on Friday night.

Turlock High's football team dropped its fourth consecutive game of the season on Friday, and their third straight Central California Conference contest, after a crushing loss to Atwater High on homecoming night.
The Pride hosted visiting Central California Conference opponent Merced High on Tuesday in what began as a sluggish start for Pitman but was quickly fixed after a pep talk from head coach Kristen Pontes, as they won the next three sets en route to a 3-1 slam, (23-25, 25-9, 25-6 and 25-14).
Due to a fire alongside Highway 99 that slowed traffic to a crawl, it took Ripon Christian High's football team and its large contingent of fans an unusually long time to make the trek from Ripon to Delhi High School Friday night.

It looked to be another rugged week for the Pitman High football team after back-to-back losses to tough competition, but the team triumphed on Friday night as they took it to Atwater at home en route to a 35-14 win.
The Central California Conference has been a powerhouse on the soccer field all year, and on Saturday both Pitman and Turlock high were able to showcase their talent under the collegiate lights in a neutral site at Warrior Stadium on the campus of California State University, Stanislaus.
For the 10th consecutive season, the Turlock High girls golf team is the Central California Conference champion, after beating out Merced High by six strokes, 474 to 480, in the league tourney on Tuesday. Pitman High was able to top out in third place with a score of 509.
Hilmar High walked out of the Trans Valley League track season and into the Sac-Joaquin Section Division IV/V Championship Trials with four TVL champions - Dani Olson, Hudson Harris, Kenzye Spears and Angelique Souza.
Since claiming the Southern Athletic League championship in 2012 for the first time in program history, Delhi High's boys track team has struggled to add another league title year to its banner. The Hawks have been in the running the past two years, but ultimately fell just short, and it seemed that would again be the case in 2015.
The Pitman High Pride were coming off a clutch one-run victory over Gregori last week and looked to continue their playoff streak as they had their eyes set on the quarterfinal match on Monday against a familiar foe from the Modesto Metro Conference-Beyer High.
The Turlock Christian High softball team was coming off not only their best postseason performance, but arguably the best season in nearly a decade after winning a playoff game by a margin of 12 runs. But on Thursday, the Eagles' hot bats ended.
