PK gives Turlock rivalry win

The Pitman and Turlock soccer teams finally met on the field Friday after Wednesday's game was postponed due to much-needed rain. The delay only increased the tension, as the rival Central California Conference teams battle for the full 80 minutes.

It was a matchup between top-tier and lower-tier Southern Athletic League teams Friday afternoon when 7th place Turlock Christian High hosted 2nd place Delhi High in a game that was originally scheduled to be played on Wednesday.

Pitman’s late game errors cost game

A late seventh inning rally from Atwater saw two runs scored to put the Falcons up by two against Pitman High as the defense kept cool in the next half inning and the game ended in a 5-3 home loss for the Pride.

Pitman tops Turlock in late innings

Turlock and Pitman High softball teams marked the end of the first round of league play with an old fashioned rivalry game Tuesday afternoon. In the first cross-town matchup of the season, the Pride welcomed the Bulldogs to Arrowhead Field where the two waged a defensive battle for much of the game.

Delhi tennis rallies for close win over Denair

Rivalries, especially in high school sports, can be very competitive and come down to the wire and that's exactly what happened on the tennis court on Tuesday when Denair traveled to Delhi to take on the Hawks in a Southern Athletic League matchup.

Bulldogs shut out Buhach

Despite missing four starters due to injury or illness, Turlock High managed to hold off a pesky Buhach Colony High squad for a 1-0 victory on Monday to remain unbeaten at 4-0-1 in the Central California Conference.

Pitman takes first at Nor Cal Relays

The sun was shining bright and early on Saturday, an added bonus to the local swimmers competing as part of the 12 school teams at the Nor Cal Relays at Johansen High. The bright outlook continued, at least for Pitman High, which ended the day on top in overall points.

Eagles fall to Grizzlies

Turlock Christian High continued its uphill battle against its Southern Athletic League opponents when the Eagles softball team hosted Mariposa County High on Friday. Though the Lady Eagles showed signs of improvement against Waterford High a week ago-losing by only three runs as opposed to double digits-they were ultimately unable to overcome the Grizzlies as they lost 13-1 in five innings.
