Pride sweep Falcons

After dropping both its games against number one seed Buhach Colony High last week, the Pitman High baseball team rebounded with a sweep over Atwater High on Thursday. The Pride hosted the Falcons in their final matchup of the week, notching a 5-2 victory.

Turlockā€™s girls still undefeated on the soccer field

Turlock High's girls soccer team continued its streak of success against Merced High on Tuesday night. Under the lights in Joe Debely Stadium - and in the rain - the Bulldogs (6-0-1 CCC) beat the Bears (2-3-2 CCC) 3-1, remaining undefeated and in the number one spot in the Central California Conference.

Murphy locks up Bulldog victory from the mound

Turlock High's Tyler Murphy helped the Bulldogs (2-3 CCC) overcome Golden Valley High (2-3 CCC) on Tuesday as he manned the mound for all seven innings. Murphy opened the game with five straight strike outs and ended the day with a total of 13 strike outs in the 4-1 victory over the Cougars.

Denair, TC jump into SAL tennis

The Southern Athletic League welcomed a new tennis program last season as Denair High joined the fold. This year the SAL has another newcomer, Turlock Christian High, which should result in a higher level of competition on the court in the years to come.

Turlock girls emerge victorious against Buhach

Turlock High held its second league meet at home against Buhach Colony High on Friday. The lady Bulldogs made a splash in the pool with a 102-77 victory over the Thunder, but the boys couldn't replicate the performance, losing 95-81.

Delhi tennis on the rise

In the past Delhi athletics hasn't had much to brag about. The high school hasn't had a team or season to point to and draw pride from in many years. Last season the Hawks began to chip away at that façade in one of the most unlikely of places - the tennis court.

Bulldogs, Pride softball struggle at the plate

The girls of Turlock and Pitman high's softball teams haven't quite experienced the success they expected at the beginning of the season. The Pride (2-2 CCC) and Bulldogs (0-4 CCC) currently sit in a three way tie for third and sixth place, respectively, in league.

Pride tennis serves Turlock first loss

Turlock (5-1 CCC) and Pitman High (6-0 CCC) met on the tennis court Wednesday with undefeated league records. Only one team could walk away from the cross town matchup with an unblemished record and bragging rights. After six singles matches and three doubles matches, the Pride prevailed with a convincing 7-2 victory, sweeping the singles competitions and taking one doubles match.

Pride baseball set to face Buhach for first place in CCC

Pitman High's baseball team set out at the beginning of the season intent on bringing home its first Central California Conference championship. Last weekend the Pride (1-1 CCC, 8-2 overall) won their first Pedretti Tournament Championship in what many hope is a good omen for the rest of the year.

Hilmar, TC swimmers compete for time

While high school swim teams around the area focus on team scores and performances, Hilmar and Turlock Christian high's focus is aimed at the individual level. Due to their small numbers and the absence of team swimming in their leagues, the Yellowjackets and Eagles have been forced to forge their own path in the water.

Bulldogs, Pride ready to serve it up

The boys at Turlock and Pitman high are in full swing as the 2012 tennis season is underway. Last year the Pride beat out the Bulldogs for their seventh Central California Conference championship and fifth undefeated season. Turlock sat in second place for the second year in a row behind Pitman, something the Bulldogs plan on changing this time around.

No state salvation for TC

Turlock Christian's girls basketball team officially ended its season on Saturday after a 61-57 loss to St. Joseph Notre Dame High in the second round of state playoffs. The loss caps off the best performance from a girls basketball team in TC's history which included a SAL championship and an appearance in the Division V SJS Championship game.

Pitman baseball takes Pedretti title

Pitman High won its first Pedretti Championship over the weekend by defeating Lincoln High, building up a heap of confidence for this year's baseball season. Turlock High missed the final round by one run and finished in third place after beating Lodi High on Saturday.

Denair, TC track teams place in top three

Turlock Christian and Denair High performed well in the first Southern Athletic League track meet, held March 8. TC's girls finished in second place as a team and its boys finished in third. Denair's team total was similar as its boys finished second and its girls ended the meet in third place.

Turlock basketball scores more than points

Nationwide Crivelli Insurance donated $3 for every three point basket made during the Turlock High boys basketball season. Lori Crivelli presented a check to Alek Carlson, Cristian Jimenez and Doug Cornfoot in the amount of $258.
