TC volleyball takes Denair in straight sets

Denair High has had a hard time finding success on the court this season. In the first four Southern Athletic League matches the Coyotes' (0-5 SAL) have only managed to win a total of three sets, creating a need for a confidence boost amongst the team. Similarly, Turlock Christian has also had a rough start to the season, dropping three of its first four matches in straight sets. Needless to say the Eagles (2-3) were also searching for much-needed confidence prior to Wednesday's matchup with Denair.

Across the court, the Bulldogs (0-4 CCC) seemed anxious, weighted with the pressure to overcome the best team in the Central California Conference and save their season.

Lady Bulldogs shoot past Pride

Turlock and Pitman High met at the Stevinson Ranch Golf Club on Wednesday in the first athletic matchup between the rival schools this fall, but you wouldn't necessarily know that from watching the girls on the course. Although the Bulldogs and Pride have developed a tradition of heated competition on the basketball court and football field, the golf course has proved to be cordial ground between former elementary and middle school classmates who focus more on the game rather than cross-town tension.
