Marina Ghabbour and Aman Hundal will have a chance to become All-Americans for the second time this season. The middle distance runners will be joined by Denali Foldager and Channing Wilson when the Warriors travel to compete at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Championships.
Three years ago Vince Wheeland helped lead Turlock High into the Division I South San Joaquin Section Championship game against St. Mary's High. The then senior finished the season with a .74 ERA, 13 wins, and 147 strike outs over the course of 85 innings and was named the MVP of the Bulldogs, the Central California Conference, and the Stanislaus District, as well as making the all-state team. With his productivity and power from the hill, few were surprised when Big 12 contender Oklahoma State University recruited him.
The Cal State Stanislaus women's track team posted many first place finishes at two sites over the weekend. Additionally, a couple of provisional qualifying times were met at the American River Invitational in Sacramento.

Two days after snapping an eight game losing streak with a pair of victories over Montana State-Billings University, the Warriors again found themselves in the loser's bracket as they fell to Sonoma State University, 5-7, Western Oregon University, 6-7, and Notre Dame de Namur, 8-10.
The Mizuno Tournament of Champions, hosted by Cal State Stanislaus through Sunday, offers collegiate softball programs the opportunity to compete with 26 teams from across the state and region in a three-day event.
Marina Ghabbour has put herself in the position to possibly run at another national championship event. The Cal State Stanislaus senior ran a provisional qualifying time in the 1,500-meter run at Saturday's Johnny Mathis Invitational at San Francisco State.
Juan Contreras never had much of a passion for track and field in high school. The former Delhi High Hawk primarily played football, but he was persuaded by then coach Matt Cabral to put his strength to use by throwing for the track team his sophomore year. Delhi's team was still growing at the time and any points were welcome.
For a program with over 1,000 wins, two national championships and numerous All-Americans over the course of its 48-year history, it's hard to do anything someone hasn't done before playing baseball at Cal State Stanislaus.
