The showdown for the California Collegiate Athletic Association women's tennis championship is now set after the No. 19 Cal State Stanislaus Warriors beat Cal State L.A. 7-2 on Friday in Los Angeles.

Preikschas added to all-academic list
Add another academic achievement to the resume of Cal State Stanislaus women's tennis junior Verena Preikschas. The two-time All-American and two-time California Collegiate Athletic Association All-Academic honoree was named Thursday to the Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-America Women's At-Large Third Team.
Wheeland wraps up freshman season at Oklahoma State
Turlock High graduate Vince Wheeland had a learning experience as a freshman pitcher on the Oklahoma State baseball team. Since he was a newcomer, he didn't get much action, but he was part of a team that went to the NCAA Division I Nashville Regional, where the Cowboys lost 9-2 to Troy and 3-2 to Belmont to end the season on Saturday.
