Former Pitman High Pride standout and recent Modesto Junior College graduate Sierrah Miller is one of four new additions to the California State University, Stanislaus volleyball roster for the 2015 season, as part of head coach Mallori Gibson's first recruiting class.
Director of Athletics Michael Matoso has named Brandon Christianson as the newest coach on the Cal State Stanislaus staff. Christianson will succeed John Cook as the head coach of the Warriors' men's golf team.

Cal State Stanislaus' Abraham Alvarado just ran out of room to chase down the front-runner as he used a late charge in the final lap to narrowly finish second in the 800-meter race at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday.

The baseball season came to a disappointing end as the Cal State East Bay Pioneers topped the Warriors, 6-5, in a 13 inning affair. With the loss, the Warriors dropped their last five games and were swept for the second time this season in CCAA play.
The Warriors came away with two individual conference titles, a relay title and several podium finishes during the final day of competition at the 2015 CCAA Men's & Women's Track & Field Championships.
The Journal tracked down Turlock High graduate and former Bulldog basketball standout Travis Souza fresh off his final game for the University of California, Irvine, where he made school history. Here's what Souza had to say:

But mere weeks before fulfilling his lifelong dream to play college baseball, Murphy's life was forever altered in the waters of Lake Tulloch.
Pitman High grad David Gianesin is hoping his talents on the gridiron will shine this weekend as he participates in the USA Football Bowl Festival - a four-day event that includes the USA Professional Leagues Testing Combine and an all-star game featuring senior players from the Division I, I-AA, Division II, Division III and NAIA levels.
