Last season's overall record of 10-16 was less than ideal for California State University, Stanislaus' volleyball team and their conference record of 6-16 was even more disappointing. Luckily for the Warriors, head coach Christina Lore, in her 8th season at Stanislaus, has the remedy: improved team chemistry.
Ethan Tait had a rough senior year at Turlock High. After playing competitive soccer for nine years Tait was forced to sit on the sideline in his last high school season as he dealt with a torn shoulder.
After helping lead Pitman High to its first Central California Conference softball championship, Allison Kuchan is on her way to Missouri Valley College where she plans to continue her success on the field. Kuchan inked her letter of intent with the Vikings on Tuesday, becoming one of the many Pride athletes to commit to collegiate programs this year.
The past year was a stellar one for Turlock High's Erick Parsons who finished his senior season with success on both the football field and wrestling mat. Parsons led the Bulldogs to a playoff berth, was named the team's MVP, and participated in the High School Senior All-Star Football Game in Tampa, Fla. As a wrestler, he was a big part of Turlock's undefeated CCC Championship season, placed third at the Masters Tournament and was one of four Bulldogs to qualify for the State Tournament.
Starting as a true freshman for a nationally ranked college baseball team is a dream come true. Helping that team advance in the College World Series is more than former Turlock High standout Kevin Kramer thought possible.
Former Cal State Stanislaus Warrior Eric Cendejas has returned to the Central Valley as a pro. The right-handed pitcher from Corona and his current club, the Inland Empire 66ers, began a three-game series against the Modesto Nuts on Tuesday.
