Recent Turlock High graduate Brett Cumberland will be attending University of California, Berkeley in the fall on an athletic scholarship for baseball, but before the Bulldog star steps foot on the Pac-12 campus he is preparing himself to compete at the next level.
Setting the pace for the entire race, Courtney Anderson and Marina Vorderbruegge teamed up to run away with the 1500-meter run as Anderson captured the NCAA Division II national championship in the event Saturday late afternoon at Grand Valley State.

Today will be a busy day for the Warriors as six Stanislaus athletes are competing in seven NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships finals events with Courtney Anderson doubling in the 1500- and 5000-meter runs. Anderson has the top seed time in the 1500-meter run as the Warriors' best chance at an individual championship. Both Josh Uikilifi and Deon Pinder will also be back for their second performance of the weekend.

It took 11 innings, but nevertheless it was a great victory to open the final series of the 2014 season with an extra inning win as Cal State Stanislaus defeated Cal State Monterey Bay, 5-4, Friday afternoon.
Clinton Tremelling's three-pointer forced overtime and the Warriors controlled the extra period as the No. 7 seed Cal State Stanislaus beat No. 2 Seattle Pacific, 80-72, in a NCAA Championship West Region game on Friday.

The Cal State Stanislaus women's basketball team had a golden opportunity to end its recent struggles. However, the Warriors weren't able to produce offensively or stop the Seawolves defensively as Sonoma State ended its own long streak with a 71-58 decision on Saturday.
The longest road trip in the California Collegiate Athletic Association started with a brutal result as the Stanislaus women again weren't able to recover from a poor start in the loss at Humboldt State Thursday night.
The baseball season came to a disappointing end as the Cal State East Bay Pioneers topped the Warriors, 6-5, in a 13 inning affair. With the loss, the Warriors dropped their last five games and were swept for the second time this season in CCAA play.
The Warriors came away with two individual conference titles, a relay title and several podium finishes during the final day of competition at the 2015 CCAA Men's & Women's Track & Field Championships.
