Jason Cole, who compiled 78 wins as the Turlock High volleyball head coach and had other influences in Turlock, has been named top assistant coach for the women's volleyball team at Dominican University of California in San Rafael, the NCAA Division II program announced Wednesday.

Two junior college outfielders and a freshman pitcher have been added to the Cal State Stanislaus softball team, coach Jan Schefkowtiz announced this week. Rachel Borges, Lauren Liming and Natalie Rendon all signed national letters of intent and have enrolled in classes recently.

Cal State Stanislaus will host its annual Running of the Warriors today to benefit the school's men's and women's cross country programs. The 5K run/walk, which starts at 9 a.m. in front of the Fitzpatrick Arena and circles around the campus, will allow the public a chance to run with the Stanislaus team.

The loss still haunts the Cal State Stanislaus women's soccer team. On Nov. 5, 2010, the Warriors suffered their greatest, most heartbreaking blow of the season via a 2-1 defeat in double-overtime against Cal State L.A. in the California Collegiate Athletic Association's postseason tournament. It also happened in front of nearly 700 fans at Warrior Stadium, the place they call home.

Dana Taylor is entering his third season as the head coach of the Cal State Stanislaus men's soccer team. In 2009, he left a Division I power - Oregon State - for Turlock, in hopes of taking the Warriors toward national prominence.

Cal State Stanislaus golfer Teddy Schrier will get another shot at the U.S. Amateur Championship this summer. The junior from Atwater has once again earned his way into the tournament after placing second at a qualifying event on Monday in Fresno.

Originally, Missy Corral wasn't on the American International Sports Team softball roster. This was back in November 2010, when she was gearing up for the Stanislaus softball season. Her teammate and roommate, Sara Locarnini, was asked to play for Team AIST Softball. At the time, she wasn't sure.
