In a last chance effort to better their times and marks to solidify their chances at qualifying for the NCAA Championships, three Stanislaus State Warriors were able to do just that at the West Coast Last Chance Open at Cox Stadium at San Francisco State on Saturday. The meet was hosted by University of San Francisco.

Turlock is home to standout stars on more than just a high school level. Three Turlock High graduates have continued their baseball career on the home turf of California State University, Stanislaus where they compete in front of a hometown crowd in arguably the toughest conference in NCAA Division II athletics.
The Stanislaus State baseball team sprayed more hits with another starting pitcher throwing up blanks as the Warriors defeated William Jessup, 7-0, Saturday afternoon to complete the three-game series sweep.
The last time a Warriors women's basketball team won seven straight games, that team advanced to the NCAA tournament. That was the 2002-03 season. This year's team matched that seven-game winning streak with a 63-50 win over Cal State San Marcos Saturday night.
For a while it looked like the Warriors men's basketball team was going to set a new team record for holding the Pioneers under 40 points. That's until the final, wild, final 40 seconds of the game. In the end, Stanislaus State was able to hang on to beat Cal State East Bay, 54-50, Saturday night.
