Juan Contreras never had much of a passion for track and field in high school. The former Delhi High Hawk primarily played football, but he was persuaded by then coach Matt Cabral to put his strength to use by throwing for the track team his sophomore year. Camille Roberts overcomes injury, returns to court for Pirates

The 2011-12 women's basketball season was supposed to be a great opportunity for Camille Roberts. The recently graduated Turlock Bulldog had made her way onto Modesto Junior College's starting roster, fulfilling a dream 14 years in the making, and was averaging 11 points a game as a freshman as she worked to draw the attention of four year universities.

Karenee Demery in contention for NCAA Woman of the Year

She's a three-time CCAA Offensive Player of the Year, three-time Daktronics West Region Player of the Year, four-time All-American, and the 2013 NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Player of the Year. She's led the women's soccer team of California State University, Stanislaus to two CCAA Championships and is currently considered to be the program's best player-ever.
