The season began as it has concluded - with a ton of high powered offense coming from both the majors and also the minors side of the Turlock American Little League. With only one weekend left of action for the regular season, players are preparing for the postseason.

Turlock's Sandra Tovar won her first boxing match in Sacramento on Saturday as part of the Delhi Boxing Club. Tovar faced off against Evelyn Mojica in the 11-year-old, 75 pound girls division and finished her Caballero Boxing Club opponent in the second round via TKO.
Three young fighters from the Delhi Boxing Club earned gold medals at Saturday's Junior Olympic Central California Championships in Salinas. Bristo Luna earned his medal in the 9-year-old, 70 pound bracket, Isaac Soto earned his medal in the 11-year-old, 74 pound bracket, and Sandra Tovar earned her medal in the 11-year-old, 75 pound bracket. All three won via walkover.

For the past two years the girls of Turlock Active Orthopedic have scorched their Turlock Youth Soccer Association competition; finishing undefeated and claiming the End of Year Tournament title in both U10 and U12 seasons.
A group of 7th grade girls from Dutcher Middle School recently orchestrated a season to remember on the basketball court. Led by head coach Salinda Mabie, the Diamondbacks completed the season with an undefeated record, 22-0, and three tournament championships- a feat that is by no means common.
The weather conditions were terrible on Sunday with rain falling by the bucket loads, but three Turlockers overcame the elements and emerged victorious in this year's Punt Pass and Kick competition in Oakland. Hilton Green, Mya Sanchez, and Ruby Randhawa each earned first place honors in their individual age groups with respective totals of 155 feet, 10 inches, 158 feet, 6 inches, and 185 feet, 2 inches.
Turlock Christian held its first annual Punt, Pass, and Kick competition and the winners were Jyllian Knight and Liam Jones. The winners and runners up - Hollie Salsig, Paige Vierra, and Brock Vieira - were recognized at halftime of Friday's TC v Denair football game.
Two years ago the 8th grade volleyball team at Turlock Junior High had an undefeated season, providing both Turlock and Pitman High with a talented crop of new athletes. This year the 8th grade Tigers did it again, finishing 23-0 in an even more remarkable year than 2010, and leaving Pride and Bulldog coaches salivating at the thought of another talented group of girls.
The Turlock FC U-12 soccer club recently won its first tournament of the season, playing six games in three days to take the Santa Clara Sporting Invitational Championship, the number one ranked tournament in Northern California and third in the nation.
Lindsey Vander Weide and Maddy Halteman will be joining their respective Division I volleyball programs next month, but before that, the duo, along with two other Turlock natives herded their U18 Rage Volleyball team into the USA Junior National Championships this past week in New Orleans.
