Tim Huber of Turlock holds up a white sturgeon he recently caught in Martinez with fellow fishing partners Mike Lopes and Bob Vierra, who netted the catch while Huber reeled it in. Huber, 52, has been fishing most of his life and said it took about 45 minutes to land the fish, which is 85 pounds and 65 inches long.
It’s never too late to learn how to ski
In January many look to the slopes for holiday and family fun. The latest ski report from Dodge Ridge includes 10 inches of new snowfall over the last two days. Bear Valley opened on Dec. 26 with limited terrain available, and First Tracks will open today.
