Kaepernick gets drafted ... in baseball

Colin Kaepernick is one of the best pitchers in Pitman High history, but people around him knew he had other intentions when he was competing in Turlock. Football was his passion and he carried that with him to the University of Nevada - though he could have gotten a scholarship to play college baseball, according to one coach.

Stanislaus Cardinals return for big year

The 18-year-old Stanislaus Cardinals Babe Ruth baseball team ended its season with an early run in the Pacific Southwest Regional Tournament. With the help of a pool of talented players from local schools including Turlock, Pitman and Hilmar High, the team is shaping up well and looking to surpass last season's success and eventually make the World Series.
