As a child, patriotism was instilled by our parents, church and school. We revered and respected the flag. Nearly every house flew a flag on holidays, and, businesses daily.
The idea that Denair's Superintendent Edward Parraz was too compassionate to make hard decisions, and specifically didn't want to lay off employees and thus is mainly responsible for the district's financial problems, is not supported by the report generated by CPA Teresa Ryland who, as required by state law, examined the district's financial planning, status, and history. Her job was to determine how Denair became one of seven districts out of 1,107 in California to receive a negative certification this year; they cannot pay their bills.
I think it is important to clarify how important public comment is to the State Water Resources Control Board during this review process for proposed amendments to the 2006 Bay Delta Plan.
I would like to tell you about another extraordinary young man who came out of Turlock about the same time as Colin Kaepernick. His name is Brandon Koch and he was an avid skateboarder, loving son, brother, friend and nephew and all around good guy. He was always there for anyone who needed him. Two articles have appeared in the Turlock Journal. The first is dated April 28, 2012, and the second August 15, 2012.
Stanislaus County has between 10 and 12 thousand gang members, over 5,000 are documented gang members. To put these numbers into perspective, gang members in our community represent a higher number than the entire population of Denair, Del Rio, Westley, Grayson, Hickman, and Hughson combined.

I believe this would show Kaep just how proud Turlock is of him. I'm quite sure that some of his team mates would come to Turlock with him.
Whenever anyone tries to tell me that people have "lost the spirit of the season," I only need to tell them about the holiday gift drive that my agency, Aspiranet, participates in each year with Starbucks in the Turlock area. For the past four years, we've had the amazing good fortune to impact the lives of thousands of foster youth because of this special partnership that helps collect thousands of gifts at hundreds of Starbucks locations throughout California. This year, in partnership with nearly 300 Starbucks stores across the state, we were able to collect and distribute 4,500 ...
On behalf of Turlock Together and the Turlock Salvation Army, I wish to thank all of the volunteers and donors who so generously contributed time, money, foodstuffs, drinks, linens and other materials that once again helped make this year's free Christmas dinner such a special day for more than 1,000 of our community's less fortunate and lonely.
Once again Mr. and Mrs. Claus left the North Pole to hand out many of the toys that the wonderful people of Turlock donated this year through the Post Office. (Without) you, many of our less fortunate children in the community would have gone without a toy this Christmas.
