A nearly packed house came to watch this year's much anticipated volleyball matchup between the two powers of the Central California Conference in Turlock and Pitman at the Pitman High gym on Wednesday.
Coming off a shutout victory over Tracy in their previous game, Turlock High kept the same momentum rolling into their Central California Conference opener on Friday night when Golden Valley came into Joe Debely stadium.
Wednesday marked the halfway point of the Trans Valley League season for the Hilmar varsity volleyball team as they hosted league rival and second place Escalon High. The squad had an opportunity to take the sole position of first place in the league and they didn't let it slip by them.
Hilmar (4-0) delayed their domination of Ripon (1-2) High on the volleyball court after a sluggish second game that unfortunately resulted in a match loss in Wednesday's home Trans Valley League contest.
The Lady Pride notched nine goals in the first half of Thursday's home Central California Conference showdown against Buhach Colony High, as they held on to secure Pitman's second league win of the season, 12-9.
