Pitman in position to claim first CCC title

There was a mutual understanding between Turlock and Pitman High that Thursday's Central California Conference dual meet would be determined by the team who secured the most bonus points. Coaches and wrestlers on both sides expected a hard-fought and close contest and for more than half of the dual meet, they were right.

Coyotes edge out Hawks in Southern League showdown

It was pin or be pinned Wednesday night when Denair High hosted Southern League rival Delhi High in the third dual meet of the season. All 11 of the night's matches were determined via pin with Denair claiming six individual wins and Delhi claiming five individual wins, a practical even split.

Merced High had a large number of their top wrestlers back on Wednesday night as they squared off against Pitman in a Central California Conference showdown in what resulted in a win by the Pride with a score of 36-24.

Pitman beats Atwater at home

Pitman High picked up its first Central California Conference win Wednesday night with a 59-45 defeat of visiting Atwater High. Coming off a loss to Golden Valley High that saw their boys allow 24 points in the fourth quarter, the Pride shored up its defense against the Falcons with bookend quarters, allowing only eight points in the first quarter and only nine in the fourth.
