The quest for a State Championship starts today

Today marks the beginning of the end of the wrestling season with the 2015 CIF State Boys Wrestling Championships. Wrestlers from all over California, who have had March 6 circled on their calendars all year, have flooded into the Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield for the first day of competition to test their mettle and chase a dream.

TC falls to Valley Christian in Div. VI rematch

It was a rematch of last year's Sac-Joaquin Section Division VI Girls Basketball Championship on Thursday when Turlock Christian High and Valley Christian High met on the court at Galt High. The Eagles entered the game keen on avenging the 7-point loss that landed them in the runners up position in 2014, but in the end history repeated itself as TC fell 52-59 and the Lions became back-to-back Div.VI champions.

Eagles led by top two pitchers

In his second season as head coach, Erik Martinez led the Turlock Christian High varsity baseball to a struggling 5-18 record, but this season he comes in with a new light and is sure to say that there is an upside to this team.

TC girls back in section title game

For the second year in a row the Turlock Christian High girls' varsity basketball squad has punched their ticket to the Division VI Sac-Joaquin Section Championship game after beating Sacramento Waldorf, 48-34, in the semifinal game at home on Thursday night.

Bulldogs eliminated

The boys' basketball season is officially over for Turlock High after Wednesday's 89-54 playoff loss to Sheldon High in the first round of the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I Boys Basketball Championships. The reigning Central California Conference champions met their match in the Huskies (19-6 overall) who showed the Bulldogs (16-11 overall) how they became Delta League champs and why they were seeded second in the tournament.

College Bound

For the second time in as many weeks, Pitman High watched two of its student-athletes sign letters of intent and secure a future in athletics at the college level. Maddy Bowen and Alexis Mettler signed their respective letters for Chico State and the University of Deleware Tuesday afternoon in what has become a Pride tradition in the Pitman library.

The California State University, Stanislaus softball team has already kicked off their 2015 season with a 2-2 record thus far, but there are many things that make this year much different for the Warriors and head coach Jan Schefkowitz, who has been with the team since 1992.

Turlock baseball boots Bear Creek in first round

Cody Cornell (7-0), pitched six innings, allowed only three runs on four hits and Marcus Lopez retired the final three outs as the Turlock High Bulldogs defeated Bear Creek, 11-5, at home on Monday in the first round of the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division I Tournament.
