Christmas comedy gets musical treatment at Playhouse Merced

This holiday season, "A Christmas Story: The Musical" will be presented at Playhouse Merced. Based on the classic movie and the original story by Jean Shepherd, "A Christmas Story" is the tale of Ralphie Parker and his quest to get a Red Ryder BB Gun for Christmas. Along the way he'll encounter leg lamps, pink bunny suits, triple dog dares, and that dreaded phrase "You'll shoot your eye out."

‘Idyllic America’ exhibit at MJC

The Modesto Junior College Department of Art is showing the exhibit "Idyllic America: Watercolor Painting" by Doug Sandelin through Nov. 22 in the MJC Art Gallery on the East Campus, 435 College Avenue, Modesto. The gallery is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday and admission is free.

YES Kidettes travel to Hundred Acre Wood
