Gilbert E. Townsend

Gilbert E. Townsend ~ 85 of Turlock passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home with his loving wife, Sara by his side. Gilbert was born and raised in Minnesota, and moved to California in 1962. Formally of Newark, Ca, Gilbert came to Turlock in 1987, at which time he became an active member of the Berkley Ave Baptist Church and has remained a faithful member until his passing.
Gilbert was a loving father, grandfather and devoted husband ~ he and his wife Sara were married just five months shy of 64 years, celebrating 63½ wonderful years together.
He is survived by his wife Sara Gwendolyn, son Gilbert L. Davis; daughters Audrey Hooper and LeeAnn (Loren) Davis; grandchildren Mary Beth Davis, and Jeremy (Lindsey) Davis; and great granddaughters Kaylin and Kaci Davis. He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings.
A memorial service celebrating Gilbert's life will be at Allen Mortuary on Saturday, June 30th at 12:00pm. Please share your condolences at www.allenmortuary.com
