Jim Parker, 69, a longtime resident of Turlock, passed away at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House on Sunday June 24th 2012, after a lengthy illness. Jim was born in Berkley, CA and spent his childhood years in Hayward, CA.
As a teenager, Jim moved with his family to Redding, CA. Jim was a Navy veteran and served in Vietnam. Upon his return from the Navy, he moved back to the Bay Area and worked as an ambulance driver and for Alhambra Water. Jim moved to Turlock in the early 1980s where he started J.R. Gardening Service.
Jim loved fishing, boating, and woodworking. His family and friends will always remember his generous, loving, heart and big smile.
He is survived by his wife Suzanne, sons Matthew Parker, Clint Strode, Cris Strode and daughters, Kim Sand, Melanie Netherby, Tracy Roland and fifteen grandchildren. Graveside services to be held at the Denair Community Cemetery on July 2nd at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to Community Hospice of Modesto California.
