John H. Blomquist

June 24, 1932 – September 25, 2012

John H. Blomquist passed from this life to be with our Father in Heaven on Tuesday, September 25th, after a long battle with cancer.

 

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Kay Blomquist of El Dorado Hills, CA, sister Barbra Anderson, brother Jim Blomquist, sons, Michael and Brian Blomquist, daughter Stacy Vandenbranden, along with nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.

 

John was born in Turlock on June 24, 1932 and graduated from Turlock High School in 1950.  He served four years in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict and graduated with a degree in engineering from Cal Poly in 1960.  John worked in engineering for 28 years before retiring.

 

John was a loving husband and dedicated father and grandfather.  He enjoyed fishing, spending time with family, and building birdhouses.  John will be remembered for his love for the church and love for others.

A memorial service will be held at Lakehills Covenant Church in El Dorado Hills on Saturday, September 29th at 2:00pm.  A grave side service will be at Turlock Memorial Park on Tuesday, October 2nd at 3:00pm.
