POSTED October 19, 2012 6:42 p.m.

Hedwig “Hedy” Marie Bucher ~ 91, passed away in the comfort of her home on Tuesday.  Hedy was born in Switzerland to Plazi and Maria Giger-Marbach. After completing high school, Hedy put herself through business school, becoming a very successful in her career path. At 40, Hedy’s life took a dramatic change; newly married to Hans Bucher, she traded in her big city life in Switzerland for life on a farm in Hilmar, California. Two years later they welcomed the birth of their daughter.

Hedy was a very warm, happy, loving and outgoing soul. She was an active member of the Swiss Club and Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hilmar. She loved taking trips to Tahoe to gamble and was an avid Pinochle player. Above all, Hedy loved her daughter and granddaughters.

She is survived by her daughter Hedy Pimentel of Brookings OR., and two granddaughters both of San Louis Obispo. She is preceded in death by her husband Hans Bucher (2011).

Allen Mortuary is entrusted with the arrangements.  A Memorial Mass will be held at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hilmar on Friday, October 26th at 11:00am. A celebration of life will follow.
